Dec 31, 2024
As the clock ticks toward a new year, one thing is certain: today is New Year’s Eve, whether we’re ready for it or not.
This reminds me of a quote I heard from John Maxwell (he credits it to someone else, but it stuck with me):
“Getting older is automatic, but getting better is not.”
Time moves forward with or without our participation. The question is: are we growing with it? The start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect and ask yourself, What’s my growth plan?
The past two years have been a whirlwind of AI innovation. From generative AI to Agentic AI, technology seems to be everywhere. But while keeping up with new tools is important, there’s something even more critical: improving your natural intelligence and helping others do the same.
Here’s the good news—you don’t have to reinvent the wheel to keep learning. Look at the people who have mastered the skills and mindsets you want to develop. Learn from them, adapt their lessons to fit your life, and keep building. Growth doesn’t have to be complicated; it just requires intention.
I’m deeply grateful for the lessons I’ve learned from thought leaders, teachers, and business icons, both in the East and West. Their insights remind me that some skills and mindsets are timeless.
If you’re looking for wisdom to guide your growth, here are three names you must explore:
John Maxwell: On the importance of lifelong learning and creating value for others.
Seth Godin: On redefining success as becoming the best version of yourself and solving meaningful problems.
Joe Hudson: On the transformative power of gratitude and abundance.
I’ve also gained invaluable insights from leaders like Julie Sweet (Accenture), Leena Nair (Chanel), and Patama Chantarak (Accenture)—women who are redefining leadership and inspiring others.
As we step into a new year, remember:
Keep learning and stay curious. Growth doesn’t happen automatically.
Focus on creating value for others—it’s the best investment you can make.
Be happy throughout the journey, not just when you reach the destination.
Don’t wait for the “perfect time” to start. The journey to a better you begins now.
Wishing you a year of growth, learning, and happiness. ✨
Here’s to making 2024 your best year yet!
